A reminder that is always in vogue and sometimes needed.
I have family TBM members that can get 'under my skin' now and then. I just read a letter from my granddaughter missionary who is far away on her 20th birthday doing this mishie-thing that I so detest and feel that it is so wrong at this time of her life. I wish she was touring Europe, attending college, or curled up reading a favorite novel----anything but what she is doing.
She sounds stressed and homesick to me. She is hard on herself when it comes to measuring if she is performing up to standards, especially where the LDS Church is concerned. In her letter there was too much worry over things an adult should be handling, not a young person of her age.
Well.....I think I will go to bed, but think of your lovely poem and hope that one day she will arrive there in her thinking, leaving the cult behind.
