"endowment" inferring the initiate is going to be given something (besides grounds for PTSD) and the thing that really happens is that they are set up to have every thing that they own or will ever own stolen from them by the MORmON scam as LD$ Inc demands it.

MORmON Prophet -some one who has NEVER had a real revelation.

MORmON apostle -some one who Jesus would find to be very offensive, some one who would not recognize Jesus if they were nailed to the same cross at the same time as Jesus was.

eternal marriage - something that really is not possible even by definition , but that still pre occupies and overwhelms MORmON minds to taint the marriage that they do manage to have

priesthood - a power that does NOTHING except enable MORmON leaders to order around and abuse MORmON members.

Jesus / The Lord, as in MORmON Jesus, who the MORmON church was created for, a Jesus who deserves to be nailed to a cross.

As in
Did you pay "your" tithing; I paid "my" tithing
I served "my" mission in Canada, where did you serve "your" mission?
"Your" testimony; "my" testimony
Attend all "your" meetings' "my" meetings.
I did "my" scripture study, did you do "yours?"
Don't forget to say "your" prayers; I'll say "my" prayers.
"My" Endowments; "your" endowments
"My/Your" faith, values, goals
Elder Evans addresses new "My Plan" resource for missionaries at Seminar
I could go on...

This has bothered me for years. This is a clever language tool used by the Church. certainly other groups use it too, but the Church is guilty of using it.

There are things that the Church imposes on us. However, the Church doesn't want us to feel like these things are an imposition, so gets us to use the language of ownership. To the extent that this is successful, we don't see tithing as as required by the Church, but as "my" obligation. We don't see a mission as a massive sacrifice required by the Church, but as something that I accept rather passively because it is "my" mission.

The language that we use entreats us to put things imposed upon us by the church into the same category as things for which we really would claim ownership--"my" family, "my" education, "my" personality...

We ought to reject this language of ownership as expected by the Church, and recognize that the things the Church wants us to own are, in fact, impositions upon us by the Church.

yah, "my" mission......

that I was compelled to serve by parents who so desperately needed it so they could feel good about themselves to the extent that they could not even care about the hardship being inflicted on me, (after all, in MORmONISM, hard is good .....especially when its a hardship that somebody ELSE has to endure), and a church that wanted it so they could soak up the benefits of fleecing any converts that might come out of the situation.

"My" mission was definitely really the my particular installment of THEIR mission, something that I NEVER would have chosen if left to MY own volition.

How about...

Endure to the end (as painful as it may be to you and as profitable as it may be to them...keep sacrificing folks)

The natural man is an enemy to God. (What in the h@!! does that mean anyway? Does it mean my thoughts, feelings and actions must be subservient to an external controller?)

"But, women have their place in the church, too."

Our TBM neighbor said this today, and my son and I just looked at each other. His big green eyes almost rolled out of his head. Sometimes, it's hard to hide our emotions.

Afterwards, I asked my son, "Will the day ever come, when we can just speak out? Why does the majority have to cater to the puny, cowardly cult? When will we stop being manipulated into silence?

I couldn't say anything, because my TBM son-in-law might not like me influencing the TBM grandchildren. My son couldn't say anything, because his wife's relatives are all Mormons.

"Do not speak evil of the Lord or His Anointed!" (But they can accuse us of following Satan, and banish us to outer darkness, etc.)

Of course, every priesthood holder is God's anointed. IMO, Mormons speak evil of the Lord all the time--and I don't mean swearing. I mean, that they accuse God of being a polygamist! They feel that God chose a rapist, a liar, a con-man, and a cheater to be His Holy Prophet on This Earth. Religions accuse God of killing off the human race in a huge flood, and giving orders for "his soldiers" to kill in battle, even chop off the head of an unarmed, sleeping man.

mormon's hate murmuring or complaining. It's considered a great enough sin to cast you in the light of Laman and Lemuel and of course go to Hell for it. Mormons believe in 'perfect' obedience. Never speak ill of the leaders, even the US president unless of course he's black, and a democrat.

One time, a 2nd counselor in the bishopric prayed for Dubya and I sat there in disgust. They believe "God" told them to kill soldiers for profit and Haliburton because "God" said so.

Stiffneckedness Or softening of the heart.

Back while I was a believer, I had a problem with this in that I saw the more 'religious' a person was, the more he was 'stiff necked'... as in the person was more closed minded, more judgmental. The 'softening of the heart I saw as people who had a lot of experience with trials, and were more empathetic.

"Counsel" because it sounds like a word signifying "Good Advice", but in the mormon cult it is VERY controlling and really means you damn well better do what we say...OR ELSE.

I think many of the previous ones are spot on. I have one phrase that I learned to detest at the MTC:

"Quiet dignity"

This was a characteristic that we were supposed to exhibit, which could be simultaneously obedient and submissive to LDS authority (quiet), and an arrogant self righteous a))hole (dignity). Someone exhibiting this characteristic could also be described as: "no fun."

Son of Perdition (no hope for these.)

Blasphemy (is what gets you to Son of Perdition.)

Apostate (is what gets you to Blasphemy.)

Go to hell and stay there.

Spending eternity in Outer Darkness. (where Sons of Perdition ends up.)

Spirit Prison is for wayward souls. (a half-way house between heaven and Outer Darkness.)
