I left in 1967. The DM is a publication that breeds on sensationalism and the reaction of its readers. That has nothing to do with it being a tabloid which is defined by size and not content. The Times is a tabloid and you don't get more staid than that. Don't know what size The Guardian is since when I left their office on Fleet Street proclaimed it The Manchester Guardian and it was regional rather than national and not readily available in London. I think the Telegraph is the only broadsheet left.
