Since I don't post much here, I need some educating. I sent a post a couple of hours ago about discrimination against black athletes at BYU. It posted A few minutes later I went back to see if there were any responses, and I saw a message that "no one could respond to that post, it had been closed, please start another post and continue the conversation." Can anyone explain why it would have been closed? If I can start another post, and continue the conversation, why not leave that one open? Anyone know? I wrote to Susan I/S, but not sure she's seen it yet.

When Susan is able, she'll give the what what on the thread.

Worry not about it.

You can email her and ask. IMO it had something to do with the second part of your post (which was unrelated, I think, to the original article.)

No worries. I've had one or two items deleated in the past.

I figure that Susan I/S knows what she's doing. :-) I used to be a "board mom" for another message board in days gone by, and I know that it's a thankless task. So I'm always extremely grateful to those who take on the job.

ETA: Never mind! I see that your original post appears to be back to normal.

So, is there a rule that each post can only address one topic? I've never heard that before.

It's better and easier to keep things organized if you post an original thread that is "somewhat focused." Like a singular topic, or story.

That's difficult to gauge sometimes, and that's why no one should take a deletion or closing of a thread personal.

It just happens.

I even tried to follow the link to the newspaper or whatever, but it either didn't like my browser or wasn't available. Heed the raptor, don't be concerned, welcome to the party, keep posting, etc.

sue -- I tried posting to the original post and it seems to have worked. I also put in two links to the article that I think you are referencing.

I'm relaxed -- just trying to learn more about what's acceptable here. It does seem very confusing to me at times. I did write to Sue, who usually responds quickly. When she didn't I figured she wasn't home probably.

I posted a link about the same topic, but nobody will touch it with a ten foot pole. LOL

Don't worry about it. I have written to her and never got a response either.

Glad it's not me doing her job, that's all I have to say!

XOXOXO to you Susan I/S
