Not a bad innings, is it kentish.

I did enjoy her 'Murder She Wrote' series. Not too scary or gory - my type of mystery.

She reportedly earned $100M for that series alone. Wow!

It's amazing to think of someone born in 1925 still being alive in 2022.

Her mum was Irish and was also an actress. They survived the Blitz in London but then moved to the USA.

Too bad Angela missed her 97th birthday by just five days. She was fortunate though, in her life, and in passing peacefully in her sleep.

Old age. It will always get us even if nothing else does.

I love that sentence, NG. It suggests the family did not survive the United States.

Haha. Thanks for the laugh, LW. I'm just recovering from a heated discussion about the state of our health care system, so I needed that.

I fear many of us will not survive the United States--although our odds would improve greatly with Canadian nursing care.

;-)

Not my favorite Dame I must say. I know many who liked Murder She Wrote but that was too saccharin for my taste. I like my crime drama to be a bit more gritty. Not a big fan of Midsummer Murder for that reason. Think her Dame (hood?) was as much for length of career rather than depth but she had a good run.

I understand what you are saying about being a bit saccharine. I must have more of a taste for that than you do. One thing that I appreciated about MSW was Angela's portrayal of a woman who was living a full life on her own. As a lifetime single, it's good to see role models (even if fictional) on my screen. I also liked that most of the show was set in Maine.

What a great life! I loved Murder She Wrote, and I still enjoy watching the reruns when I can catch them.

Now maybe all those murders will finally stop happening in Cabot Cove! That place seemed to have the highest murder per capita in the world.

RIP Jessica.

She won 6 Tony Awards for her work on Broadway. Such a talent.

I knew her best from a filmed version of "Pirates of Penzance." I should start watching "Murder, She Wrote." RIP.

One of my favorite comedy movies is The Court Jester.

I think she was great as the princess :)

Just remember, he pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.

One of my favorite movies! I remember showing it to my son when he was in his early teens. His laughter triggered mine, and we still throw lines from it back and forth. He has shown it to his own daughters, and they loved it too!

She was also in a couple of Disney flicks, one being "Bednars and Broomsticks."

I actually liked Angela Lansbury in Murder, She Wrote. It was the first whodunit series since Perry Mason to go beyond one season. RIP Angela Lansbury!

What were you expecting.

Lansbury was also in "Gaslight", from which we get the term gaslighting.

I learned for one of the obit articles that she included older actors from days long gone by in episodes of Murder She Wrote, so that they could keep their Screen Actors Guild membership current, and qualify for SAG health insurance.
