You should also be aware that making threats on the Internet could be construed as a crime.

That person sounds like he or she's demented, and obnoxious.

I think you handled the email well, and gave it the response it deserved.
You are likely right, this may well be someone preparing for their mission call and who stumbled on your site by accident.

However, they stumbled on YOUR site. with its wealth of information about the church and that is a victory in itself.

When I first found this site I was upset as well. I told myself it was an anti-mormon site filled with lies.

All that changed when I saw the essays on lds.org. Perhaps the author of this silly email is going through a hard time as well?

Either way, the response was classy and spot on.
