Thanks to the restoration of the restored gospel, for the first time ever, a football team has beat a football team through another football team!
The Utes handily beat Michigan for their season opener September 3rd in SLC 24-17. Today BYU got smashed by Michigan 31-0.
Utah is not playing BYU for the second year in a row due to the fact that BYU is in a lower kingdom (independent/telestial) and Utah is in a higher kingdom (pac-12/celestial). This makes it hard for both teams to play on a yearly basis.
But thanks to the restoration, both teams were able to play without actually playing each other! Utah through Michigan upset the Cougars 31-0. Tanner Mangum BYU's quarterback and recent returned missionary for the LDS church blamed the loss on fellow team members tampering with their little factory and drinking caffeinated soda before the game. He also blamed the whole defensive line and linebackers for staying up past curfew which led to that embarrassing run by Michigan's running back up the middle for a touchdown. "How is the Lord going to bless you with the spirit to know where the running back is if your breaking curfew?" "Everyone knows that the holy ghost goes to bed at midnight!" A spokesman for the team said that the team will be disciplined and counseled to repent so that the Lord will bless them with future wins.
