I just typed the word "Mormontology" on another thread about the documentary Going Clear which deals with Scientology. Am I the first to come up with this made up word?

I can see it now in Urban Dictionary...

Mormontology - Any bizarre doctrine, or cult-like behavior practiced by leaders, or members, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"There the leaders go again, practicing that "Mormontology" shit again and kicking kids out of BYU because they want to attend Young Life instead of Family Home Evening.

As in turns out I was not. Checking Google and Urban Dictionary shows previous posts of the word. My definition which ties to Scientology might be unique, but others have used it.

A coiner of phraseology for coinage was Horny Joe.......giving us the senine, the seon, the limnah and of course, the shum.

And then for good measure the copped the OT coinage of the denarius, the lepton (widow’s mite), and the shekel.

He then went on to Kirtland to invent the three dollar bill.

Are you sure it's not Mormonology instead of Mormontology?

I like the "t" as part of the word because it ties it closer to Scientology.

It's use should always tie Mormonism with Scientology. It's control techniques, pledge of all financial resources and outlandish doctrines only taught after going through a methodical process. Doctrines not taught to new converts.

L Ron Hubbard would DIG the milk before meat analogy frequently cited by leaders on every level of Mormonism.

Mormontology: The merger of Mormonism and Scientology.

This was posted at the Dictionary of Mormonia http://salamandersociety.com/dictionary/ some time ago and unfortunately it is not known when or by whom.

I keep the Dictionary updated myself and have added many words myself as well but it is too large would be too time consuming to annotate/document the origin of each word.

I've pulled many words from here at RfM and from Post-mormon.org and red-dit/exmormon and added them to the dictionary.

I suppose another definition for Mormontology could be: The merger of the brains and balls L Ron Hubbard and Joseph Smith that went Hollywood on its way to Xanadu and Kolob with John Travolta piloting the spaceship that was tight like unto a dish.
