Help with Facebook - computer challenged :-\

So I have an exmo friend in my area and she sent me a link to join the local exmo FB group here. I'd like to but can anyone tell me if my DH could tell if I joined? Or if there's a way to disable/make private the groups I'm part of. I tried to see if there was a way but I couldn't figure it out.

Depends on what type of group it is. If it's a "secret group" nobody will know or see anything unless they are members.
If it's a "closed group" only members can see posts but others can see who are members.
If it's a "public group" then anyone can see everything.
