My brother took my daughter and me along with his family to an old warehouse downtown where they serve supposedly the best ribs. I don't eat those, so had a salmon salad which was okay. He goes for the ribs, and because he lives there says it's the most famous one out of the restaurants. That may be the same place Dave recommended. It's been awhile since I was there.
There's an expensive, upscale shopping district on the outskirts of town, with all the corresponding marble tile brought over from Italy for its landscaping architecture. It was beautiful to stroll around, and spend a little here and there on a souvenir or two.
Downtown has similar features for its shopping. The Hallmark Gift store shopping complex was downtown, and another shopping shrine, but still worth a visit if you like to check things out.
I didn't care for the very spread out concrete jungle, and people there are some of the worst drivers I've ever been around, so if you are driving be sure to be doubly equipped with alertness and be on the lookout for crazy driving, as well as pickpockets. There's many homeless people living there, and transients.
KC has more Italian style fountains btw, than anywhere else in the world, next to Rome, Italy.
I have been on many a dates at the Mormon Visitor Center, both Indep and Liberty. Both exciting and free movies if you like Johnny Lingo, etc. Highly recommend it if you are a complete idiot...lol..sorry couldn't resist.
