I just ran across a post in researching from a man named Muhammad Islam. I'm curious. You think in a couple of hundred years there will be a man named Joseph Smith Mormon?

I live in a fairly Mormon area, and I have a student in my class named Joseph Smith. And yes, he is LDS.
He's a nice kid, but that name just triggers me.

Joseph was the (step)father of Jesus. Smith means "someone who makes stuff". Joseph Smith is one of the most common Anglophone names imaginable.

Normal Norman Mormon is an old joke name my siblings and I came up with for an obsessed LDS man.

There is really a last name called "Mormon". Maybe someone with this surname got named with Joseph Smith as his first and middle names.

I found people named JOSEPH MORMON, JOSEPH T. MORMON and other people surnamed MORMON using www.dexknows.com, but no JOSEPH S. MORMON.

There's a person named Joseph H. Mormon living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

My main point was that MORMON is a real surname. I also saw people with the name MOORMAN.

If there's a family surnamed MORMON which actually did name their son JOSEPH SMITH MORMON, that would be rather crazy!

When I was in the old SLC missionary training facility in 1960, we had an elder with the last name Elder hence we properly addressed him as Elder Elder. His father came the day he was set apart. We just couldn't resist. We said that he was the younger Elder Elder and his father was the Elder Elder Elder!

This was about the only thing I remember from that week.

If he was a stutterer this could have been quite the problem.

I knew a girl from my school named Mormon Smith. As far as I know, she's not even LDS. I also knew a guy named Leviticus in high school.

Leviticus is a pretty epic name.

And don't forget Norman Borman, the Mormon doorman from the first "Bob Newhart Show."
