Only shame comes from rejecting the hero’s path

So many know the truth about the Mormon Church, yet rationalize staying in simply because they’re too afraid of losing a job, community status, and other comforts.

Pink Floyd put it well:

“Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?”

Sadly for many who remain in the Mormon Church after they know the truth, the answer is tragically,

YES, they did.

There’s a nice Youtube video which Jackson Browne did for the BBC in which he explains a little about what he meant with that song.

Moral courage is number one.

Without it, we shame everything about ourselves.

Love those lyrics.

Lily Tomlin used to do a bit about hippies eventually joining the establishment and justifying it by saying they were now "working on the inside." Wish I knew where that recording was. It was hysterical.
