That I now have all four of my children out from under the intellectual thumb of the church. I was worried about my 15yo daughter. Mom went Scrapbooking this week, so I've had to play mom, which gave me a lot of time to talk with my daughter this week. She is pissed over the LGBT policy, is disgusted over the mistreatment of women in the church, is upset that her father is being judged as an inactive apostate by her Sunday School teacher, thinks the 15 are a bunch of uninspired old timers that need female guidance...and can go on and on.
The significant part of this is I have not influenced her way of thinking at all. I make sure she is raised in an environment where she can make her own choices and have taught her critical thinking skills, but all this has been developed on her own, even with mom's heavy church influence on her.
I am so proud of her. The last child I was worried about the church owning and I no longer have to worry. Thank you for indulging my celebratory post.
