Many years ago when attending the LDS Church on fast Sundays, our Ward leaders would TURN OFF the drinking fountains in the building. And make sure the doors to the kitchen were locked.

While attending BYU, I noticed the dorm laundry rooms were locked every Sunday!

In our BYU dorm also, the TV's in the downstairs lounge were all shut off and unplugged on Sundays......except during G Conference twice per year.

Gee, what happened to the Joseph Smith urging, "teach the Saints correct principles and let them govern themselves"

It's called "enforcing your free agency."

Jesus... your ward sounds more like a prison, than a chapel.

I guess its a true sign of a shit laden cult where control is

everything.

So, if you are pregnant or diabetic, you have to bring your own water? Might be best anyway. Who knows what germs are living it up in the water fountains.

What a control cult. Telling members when and what they can eat or drink. And trying their damnedest to enforce it. Satan's plan, Satan's plan. They don't seem to put two and two together.

Someone might need it to swallow a lifesaving tablet or stop a choking fit.

It's a health hazard to turn off all of the water for a crowd of people of every age.

What happened to the "he that is compelled" bullshit? Doesn't the scripture say something like they are slothful and not a wise servant and receive no reward?

I will pass on the "loving" (?) saying I heard from a strict TBM father, "I must save you from yourself."

See, that's all the kind, loving cult is doing.

My apartment was right across the street from campus when I attended BYU. All the ball fields had signs to the effect, "SUNDAY PLAY PROHIBITED" Hell, we couldn't even have a game of catch on Sunday.

They used to lock the music practice room doors on Sunday at BYU.

After moving into a new building, an over-zealous ss prez was determined to discourage any loitering in the hallway by removing the brand new furniture from the foyer. He moved every chair into a small room that doubled as a coat room. Despite scraping the sides of the plush chairs and making giant grooves on the brand new carpet; he proudly proclaimed "Now there is no excuse for not learning what the lord wants you to learn."

He was later chastised and rebuked for damaging church property. And the BP was upset for causing folks to head to the parking lot to sit in their cars.
