I want to thank everyone at RfM for putting up with me for another year. Thanks for laughing at my silly jokes and reading my painful autobiographical prose. I hope I'm allowed to stick around for a while.

Yours,
Don

P.S. This holiday card was NOT approved by Dallin (the Dalek) Oaks.

You are a wonderful part of this board, Don...and so often your words have made me "think in new categories" (a phrase which was in an anecdote I read when I was growing up, and have never forgotten).

Merry Exmas to you!!!

:) :) :)

Thanks Don for being here. You've made my stay and welcome at RfM all the more rewarding by your presence.

Happy holidays, may they be bright and your New Year filled with promise for a wonderful year ahead.

Looking forward to more of your talented prose and sharing of anecdotal stories from your Mormon childhood to now.

Aw crap! I suppose if she loves you, I have to love you too. Aw crap! What's that damn song about every rose has a thorn... Why can't love be like a willow tree, or a soapy loofa?

But on a completely frivolous level, I honestly love you, only I don't know the rest of the lyrics, or even the actual name of the song.

Have a glorious Festivus!

You mean "Every Rose has it's thorn" by Poison? It's a tough one to remember I know.

Merry Xmas, may you all spend countless hours spouting words of wisdom in the new year.

I don't "put up with you". I depend on you for a good laugh now and again. You always deliver. With family like yours, what else can one do?? Laughing about them is the best way to deal with them. They are terribly funny in a terrible way.

Thanks for your wit and humor.

Your stories touch me, and your jokes make me laugh out loud, sometimes my only laugh for the whole day. I treasure your words, and wish you peace and happiness.

I don't like it when people take the X out of Xmas.

Happy Holidays, Don.

Keep at keeping at it. Your Chekov reading fits right.

If you ever get too down about laying down words in sentences strung together forming your narrative, like down enough to wonder why the hell you bother, then read Philip Sydney's sonnet sequence Astrophel and Stella. He'll tell you why. We love, that is why.

Cheers to you,

Human

Season's Greetings, Happy pre-Solstice tidings and joys and Merry Christmas hopes and wishes to all... and May all your days be merry and bright and your nights be dark and dreary, I mean twinkley and sparkley.

You wrote something in one of your posts that resonated with me a couple of years ago. I copied it down and keep it by my computer since I've suffered with anxiety disorder all my life and am an introvert. Funny, that my anxiety has gone way down since I stopped going to church two years ago.

Your quote: "Mormonism, as practiced, is an environmental stressor that exacerbates nervousness. It's hard for others to understand that meetings and forced socializing are no good for us and create mental torture."

Thanks for your posts, Don Bagley. My family of origin was f'd up too.
