I had torn rotator cuff surgery last Friday.

When not writhing in self-pitying pain, I've been wiling away the hours reading post after post here at RFM. Since I'm r-handed, I can't do a lot of typing, or game-playing, so I'm pretty much relegated to watching TV, or reading stuff on the internet, or gasp, reading books.

Anyhoo, to everyone out there in RFM-land, you guys are real friends. Thank you for helping me through this little mini-trial of mine, with your usual fare of drama-filled or humor-filled or insight-filled posts.

Oh Jeez...I did that to my right rotator cuff when I was fencing, and I had NEVER felt pain like that ever before in my life!!!

I'm right-handed, and I couldn't do ANYTHING!!! Dressing and undressing...showering...going to the bathroom...it was like every second of every twenty-four hour day was just PAIN...

I am SO SORRY schlock!!!

I know, right? Holy cow it hurt - - - but it's feeling a wee bit better today.

And yes, it's ridiculous how incapacitating it is to function with only one wing.

I have a worn/torn rotator cuff. I can't throw overhand without first putting on a poodle skirt and a ruffled blouse, so I look the part.

But I can swing a golf club, so I am not going under the knife, even though it would be free, courtesy of all you taxpayers who keep Social Security well funded.

If I ever have to, what's the recovery time supposed to be? Does how much you masturbated have anything to do with recovery time?

100 years ago, I would have been screwed, medically-speaking, if I'd torn my rotator cuff.

I'll take science over superstition any day of the week (and twice on Sundays).
