The coveted Mormon family Christmas letter- and other things TBM's say

Today I received a Christmas letter and a family photo from a friend- a friend from long ago. We don't interact anymore other than the yearly holiday cards/letters.

In the letter she talked about her family and how she had a miscarriage earlier this year, and in the next breath proceeded to say the Lord had a plan and that was the plan for them.

While this is a sad thing for anyone to go through- she is pushing 40 and already has 6 kids. Maybe it was biologies way of saying enough is enough. And again- I do feel sorry that they suffered that loss...

Whenever I open the mailbox this time of year, I have to take a deep breath before I open any TMB card. The things they say in them! Next year I think I'll post my untestimony, just for shits and giggles.

Anyone receive any crazy testimonies this year?

The Christmas letter isn't a strictly Mormon thing. I get them from distant non-Mo relatives, and I send them out despite being ex-Mo.

It's a way of checking in, and I honestly don't mind it. For some families, there's an element of bragging, to be sure, but I have no beef with them taking pride in whatever it is they wish to.
