He abused his power and authority to take advantage of his followers wives and teenage daughters according to the historical record. Thats the same thing that got Warren Jeffs sent to prison, for child rape. Was Warren Jeffs a con man or a child rapist?

You are probably correct. Few of us would even remember Jones, had all of his male members been packing guns. Smith was like a prequel to Jones, sans the ability to load his followers onto planes.
