I don't think that the news catches on about the Bundys being Mormon and all that, and how that the LDS church is turning a blind eye to the Mormon effect of the Burns, OR, takeover. Isn't there something to turn the news onto the hefty discrepancy in this situation as it pertains to the 12th Article of Faith? Like, shouldn't the networks be knocking on the Bundys' stake president's door and asking him questions about their status?

This be frustratin' me. Anyone know how to alert the press on the Mormon connection and what should be an important consideration?

An individual calling himself Captain Moroni is in Oregon at the takeover of the government offices. Bundy was mentioned.

I also heard the NPR story this morning and told my neverMo mom and sister about it. When I explained the significance of Moroni to Mormonism, both of them broke out in laughter. Frankly, the Bundys and their ilk are really backwards people, and the Mormon church and others encourage this kind of thinking.

It looks like there are already some articles popping up about the Bundy brand of mormonism. I just googled Captain Moroni Bundy and came up with a whole bunch of articles talking about these people. It's funny how every time mormons are in the news it's something alarming. Just like the early days.

Maybe they view themselves as the ones discussed in Mormon doctrine as being the men from the "North" who wrest back the country from the government that as they see it is "hanging by a thread," as fulfillment of prophecy.

They just need everyone else to climb on board.

The F.B.I. says as of this morning's news they are hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict..

The danger in that is all these men/people (women? children?) are armed, and therefore to be considered dangerous despite their saying they will only shoot if shot at first.

Yeah, I knew Ted was Mormon but that's not why I never liked him.

I think he got what he deserved.

I did some reading about this and the Oregon family in question that are at odds with the US government do not want the Bundy's and the "militia" involved in their conflict.
