Beyond public and university libraries, you can also access Ancestry.com and other fee-based data bases for free through The U.S. National Archives in certain major cities, including Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dayton, Denver, Fort Worth, Philadelphia, New York, Riverside, CA, San Francisco, and others.
