I have to like a woman who is 6'2" tall. Good for them.

I see that her mom died when their car struck an elk. When I lived in Colorado, there was a saying that if your car struck a deer, the deer would lose, and if it struck an elk, caribou, or moose, you would lose. I'm sorry that she lost her mom at such a young age. But it sounds like she's made the most of her opportunities.

I'm over 6'3''. I played volleyball on the high school level -- it was the only team sport I could ever figure out. Not all ballplayers are egotistical jerks. I knew one guy (not going to mention any names) at university who played football who made All-American and made it to the NFL. We were friends. He liked talking to someone that wasn't trying to throw themselves at him. He told me stories about girls showing up naked in his room and so forth.

I don't know how Mormonism views female athletes. Not sure how much of a career she's going to have with all of the pressure to pump out offspring to get spirit babies from heaven material bodies on Earth. Just hope she and the future kids won't be exploited for propaganda purposes -- "Look! See! The Curse Of Cain has been lifted!" etc.

It says a lot that the headline leads with the male. Why isn't it: BYU volleyball star Alexa Gray announces engagement to QB Tanner Mangum? Why isn't there a big photo of her?

I had to Google Alexa Gray to see a picture. Clearly not "Lamanite." It's unfortunate that there is also a porn star named Alexa Gray. Fascinating. Who knew?

She looks black to me, not native American (Canadian version)

Not that it should really matter, but she looks like she has both First Nations and African heritage. There are certain characteristics, like the cheekbones and eyes, that show the former heritage.

Black for sure.

You do know that the combination of black and NA heritage is quite common, right?

It's usually not one or the other for many people of colour in the Americas, it's a combination that presents itself in a myriad of aesthetics and shades.

Whatever she is, she's a beautiful woman.
