So a few weeks ago, I dove back into the software business at the request of an old friend, who is CEO of a startup doing high-end data visualization. It's fun and challenging.

Turns out our biggest competitor (who we're trying to knock off their pedestal) is run by a Mormon, and based in Utah (Domo is the company name, run by Josh James).

He has a nearly $2 billion headstart on us. This will be fun :)

We need some of that. What is your company? My email is public here with my handle.

(not an ad)
I'm coding for Apmetrix ( you can google it).

Redoing the entire UI for the report suites, changing the back end over from using Flash to Angular.js, d3.js, and all client-side instead of server-side visualizations, and making it all work on mobile phones, tablets, etc.

:)

What a great opportunity! I enjoy doing financial management and accounting reports myself. Good luck to you guys. I hope it turns into a profitable enterprise.

I've seen the ads for your competitor throughout Utah County. All I can say, Hie, is that I expect you to do some serious ass kicking! Hey, I'd want you on my team! The Hardwired Boner.

Hmmm.... I can almost figure out what the hell your company does...

Naw I'll go back to reading a scientific summary paper on the evolution and history of wheat. Now that I can understand.

From what little I can make out of the Domo page, I sure would like to have the church take advantage of this kind of service, so that one good hack could gather all the wonderful financial and membership information we all yearn for.

But man, Hie, you're up against a company that is jetting in Walk the Moon for a company shindig!!!!

Walk The Moon to Perform at Domopalooza 2016

Pop-Rock Superstars Join Roster of High-Energy Entertainment

SILICON SLOPES, Utah – February 25, 2016 – Today Domo announced that pop rock band Walk The Moon will entertain at Domopalooza™ 2016.

Talk about it when they can afford Bono for Domo. Walk The Moon is hot but not but not Celestial hot.

Can't be that hot. I've never heard of them. They probably have one song that hit the top 40.

One of the VP's at DOMO is a childhood friend from east coast. Our mothers were best friends. Both of us were raised in the church. Each of us got the appropriate t-shirts... one a partier, the other following the prescribed church path. He is now very TBM and I am very ex-mo. Funny how things flip to the opposites. I wouldn't have seen that coming in a million years. Bonus, he is still a great guy and doesn't give a sh*t that I resigned. I am happy that he is happy too. It works for him.

"...Flash to Angular.js, d3.js, and all client-side instead of server-side visualizations..."

Careful, that sounds a lot like L. Ron Hubbard Scientology talk!

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

We use extjs but for our graphing it is always a third party.

No Scientologism that I know of in the magical world of javascript variation.

I always thought it would be cool to visualize the shapes of chaotic attractors and strange attractors in financial data. There are probably papers on that.
