Wow - I woke up a half hour earlier to the clap of thunder!

There's LIGHTNING!

And THUNDER!

And a real live DOWNPOUR!

Again!

And Again!!

I grew up in Maryland, where this happens all the time.

But now, it's SoCal's rainy day!

Our streets will flood, and mudslides will follow.

But for now, I'm 9 again, watching the lightning & rain from my open window. And I'm a happy boy.

:)

Central coast of CA checking in.
We'll take all the rain we can get. The sound and light show is icing on the cake.

I am sure someone is taking the rain as a sign the church is true.

If my memory is correct, you are just a few miles East of me. I have only seen a couple of flashes, but there has been plenty of thunder, and lots of rain.

I remember one morning in San Diego during the mission when my comp and I awoke to hear rain outside. We both immediately jumped in the car and drove down to the nearby park, got out and stood in the rain for a solid 20 minutes just enjoying it.

Rain in SoCal is so nice!

Lorenzo Snow was right all along. Pay your tithing, and it will eventually rain. The church is trooo!

I heard lots of fabulous thunder, but was too damn tired & lazy to get out of bed; time was when I would to get out of bed at 3 a.m. and go outside to enjoy a nice (not destructive) warm Santa Ana blowing. Magical.

I prefer to watch SoCal lightning on those rare August/September evenings when there's lightning but not much rain.

But I agree that it's nice to have actual *weather* happening instead of boring dry dry dry.

I drive all out in the fast lane on the 101 when it's pouring rain looking for those hydro-planing opportunities! Yippee!!!

Might not seem like much to many, but we're glad to have it help with our drought. We ordinarily get that much rain a little here and there throughout all of March.

Only a few happy little claps of thunder here.

This storm didn't seem to last long, just heavy downpour and thunder in the morning, but it's really windy now.
