Yes, it is spectacularly silly. The Marriott Corporation was not a defendant in the lawsuit. Only the particular hotel was, which is a franchisee.

The name Marriott is a family name who happened to be mormons. The name not over the door is "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

If we can hold the Marriott company responsible for Prop 8 in California, we can hold them responsible for this. There's just as much connection. If not more.

Neither the Marriots personally, nor their company donated anything to the passing of Prop 8 in California. So, in that sense, they are equally liable for what happened to Erin Andrews in one of their franchisee's property. Yes. That liability is exactly zero.

Yet Marriott is a True Believer who tithes 10% of his massive salary to TSCC. Paying money to Marriott is directly funding the CHURCH OF HATE. Whether he voted for Prop 8 or not.

So what? That doesn't make the Marriotts guilty of filming.

Some of the posters here are saying that saying MORmONS did the videoing is a strained accusation. I have to agree with that notion. And I know that the MORmON church has its dirty fingers involved in far more illicit and even illegal activities than what it would ever want to let on to.

However, Radio Host Doug Stephan has used this particular story to rip on the Marriotts and the MORmON church and MORmON members repeatedly. Sorry, that I do not have an actual audio clip .......but Doug does have a broadcast archive, and I guarantee that if you listen to it that you will find 2 huge rips on the MORmONS in the last week. Sorry, that I just do not have the time to grind through a dozen hours of audio to find them, when there are better things to do ...... like holding Bednar's feet to the fire, and another MORmON that I am not allowed to mention by name, over their latest idiocy.

While there's some truth to that. In this case, it's an exmo who is quite confused. The Marriotts have no liability or culpability in this case. It rests solely with the person who decided to stalk and film a woman without her consent and make the film public.

I understand that the Marriott family has apparently divested themselves of ownership of the hotel chain, but as long as they continue to put BOMs in the rooms, there remains a MORmON connection, in my opinion. For that reason, I do my best to never stay at a Marriott property.

Well, I read that the day after Andrews' testimony, one of the wonderful Marriott franchisee executives, Neal Peskind, was observed showing his friends the video in a restaurant and making comments about her body.

So much for lessons learned and concern for the safety and well-being of guests.
