Reading this response to Moose's post got me thinking. What if they simplified their Court of Love process much like Oaks' main squeeze did with her glove of heavenly love?
http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,1788729,1788800#msg-1788800Here is the glove.
https://deseretbook.com/p/testimony-glove-kristen-m-oaks-79019Here are the 5 pillars of gloving yourself to accept the iron rod.
" * God is their Heavenly Father
* Jesus Christ is their Savior and Redeemer
* Joseph Smith is a prophet of God
* The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s church on earth today
* The church is led by a living prophet"
http://blog.mrm.org/2011/09/five-basic-principles-of-a-mormon-testimony/And here is how it could work as an Excommunication Glove.
All those gathered to love the accused bring a testimony glove. The priesthood authority running the show passed out the name of the accused and what they are accused of written on PostIt notes.
All of this is done in Celestial silence.
Then those gathered sit down and put on their testimony gloves and affix the PostIt note in the center (palm) of the glove and raise their hands to the square (right hands of course.) After pondering the accused and their accusation they give the accused if present the opportunity to ramble on and on about what ever they want to in hope I assume of changing the outcome.
Then the leader signals the accused to stop talking and indicates the voting is to take place by either removing the note and glove and lowering his hand or pointing to his testimony gloved hand with his left hand indicating his vote to excommunicate. Then when all the votes are indicated the leader could just point towards the door and all the others could as well thus miming the former member away.
No arguing, no contention (it is of the devil), and no hassle with the accused. They could use The Testimony Glove to make it an all hands affair and show their love with their hands instead of their words.
