Yes, still on. What I am shocked at is that Pat Boone is still alive!

Then he's almost old enough to serve in the First Presidency.

There's nothing in life I enjoy more than some good old blasphemy. I particularly love Seth McFarlane and his Family Guy depredations of religion in general. Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "South Park" is also a delightful romp through a world of blasphemous comedy. I just love blasphemy!

SNL plays to their audience, the vast majority of which is up late on Satudays because they know they are going to sleep in on Sundays.

If ghawd is in charge of this existence, can't christians just pray to him to let him know they still support him, and to do with SNL as he pleases? Do christians think that unless they complain, christians with less fortitude will fall prey to liberal blandishments?

I guess this shows that the song was right, "Only the good die young."

Is that he's saying God disapproves of the SNL skit, and he wants blasphemy laws to rein in shows like SNL.

Pretending to know God's Will is also considered blasphemy in your faith, Pat...

Pat Boone needs to get a life. NO one cares .

In the early seventies, Pat Boone and his wife were going through the lessons with Mormon missionaries. Pat spoke at BYU Forum and made many favorable comments regarding the Mormon church. This was followed with an open Q&A. The mother of one of the missionaries who lived in Provo was in the audience and vouched that her son had met several times with the Boones.

The question was asked if they would ever join the church. Pat replied that it would be a very difficult decision since they would likely lose most of their friends and income (I guess from the loss of sales of his records to Christians). I thought, why would it be difficult since if you knew the Church were really true, why would you turn your back on god for phony friends and money?

Jesus doesn't light up his life unless he fills his wallet as well.

His daughter, Cherry, was supposedly dating one of the Osmond brothers and it actually got pretty serious. She later married a Catholic guy and converted. Apparently, Catholicism helped her recover from anorexia.

I'd bet real money that sometime later this year, SNL will feature a skit about Lorne Michaels' diseased whore of a mom.
And it will be hilarious :)

Hey, if God doesn't like SNL humor let him speak for himself!

Ooops. Maybe he IS dead.

It's hard to watch talent being replaced by mediocrity. See? Boone and SNL have something in common.

Pat Boone is a disingenuous asshole. He made his career and got rich on the backs of struggling black artists who's music he covered and never paid proper respect or tribute to.

If the christian right is tired of being 'blasphemed' against, maybe it's time for them to take a look at why they are so consistently ridiculed and mocked, instead of casting blame everywhere and anywhere except for themselves. It's exactly what Pat Boone is doing is why Christian Evangelists are such ripe targets for parody and mockery. Nothing, absolutely nothing, not you or I or any religion or religious icon, no event or person or thing in perpetuity throughout the universe, should be above being mocked or ridiculed.

As was stated above, that's a core tenet behind the humor of people like Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Seth MacFarlane. Nothing is sacred, and it's what makes them edgy and funny. Or what used too, anyway (in some cases- It's a lot more hit and miss now, for my tastes)

Haven't watched SNL in many years, but I remember Pat Boone in the movies in the 50s & 60s. Particularly "April Love" (1957) with Shirley Jones http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050135/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 and "Mardi Gras" (1958) with Sheree North http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051908/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm.

For a young celibate Christian stud, he sure got to work with some hot leading ladies. Shirley's strip-tease behind the closet doors in "April" was quite daring for 1957. Of course it seems quaint nowadays when we have Helen Hunt in "The Sessions."

Pat also hit the boards with Ann-Margaret in "State Fair" (1962) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056526/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 but I don't think that's one of his best efforts.

two-sheets-to-the-wind best wishes from the Backseater.

Didn't he spend most of the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" wearing nothing but short shorts and baby oil?

When I saw the movie in the theater, about two-thirds of the way through my buddy turned to me and asked "Where is he getting his hair cut"?

Whenever "Journey to the Center of the Earth" is run on television I still think about that!

I abhor Mormonism.

That being said, let SNL grow a pair and make fun of the idiocy of Islam.

They could invite Molly Norris on to draw a pretty picture of Mohammed.
