Mid-Late 1980s stateside mission.

We went from having the local members participate in the

"Choose a Friend" program, to something called the "Set a

Date" program. They were pretty much identical as far as I

could determine.I now wonder if two separate groups of

Church bureaucrats at the COB ended up putting out the same

product, and to save face / smooth things over they

quietly introduced them one after another?

Strangely, just before I was done, the missionaries were

directed to assemble folders of pamphlets, quotes, etc

called something like "Member Missionary Tool Kits"...

I had forgotten about all the cassettes and later VHS video tapes we were told to use.

There was "How Rare a Possession: The Story of Vincenzo DiFrancesco."

Later (I think) came the totally ecumenical, tear jerker labeled simply as "Luke II."
