"Hate" is such a strong word, these days especially, that I think you have to be careful in how you use it. If you are really specific in what you hate, I think it seems less hate-ful. If you say you hate the Mormon Church, that is very broad and it's like saying you hate all the people in it. But if you say you hate how the church treats homosexuals or you hate how the church takes in so much money from its members and gives so little back. etc. that is more specific, and less hateful.
