He called me last night to wish me a happy Father's Day, single mom that I was.

Then told me his oldest child will be taking advanced courses at Stanford, and is thinking of majoring in Computer Engineering.

His son is 14 and looking at early high school graduation by his sophomore year. He's off the charts where he is going to public school.

I am very happy for his success. :)

This is great news. I just saw some facebook page or other in which a person was complementing another person on having "righteous parentage."

Good luck to your clever young rellies!

Good for him. Stanford is a great place to be in the summer.

Thanks all! It's exciting news. He's the first in our family to go to Stanford. :)

I finished high school in the same town as Stanford, and spent about two years there before moving back to Idaho. It's become a lot more high tech in the intervening years since I was there. HP was a fixture then. Today it's more Facebook, Google, and lots of startups.

At Stanford, brother tells me there's a Google Lego display showing the first Google server (made from Legos) before it became a household name. The year was 1996. :)

Here's a pic of it from online: http://www.dexanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/lego-google.jpg
