I remember reading some time ago of a Mormon apostle addressing a crowd at General Conference or elsewhere boasting that he had never seen his wife naked. Anyone here remember this who can supply his name and where one could find the text of this speech?

I was also thinking how disrespectful this was to his wife. It would instantly make everyone imagine his wife being naked, and wonder what the issue was.

I've read of evangelical Christian couples who only "congugated the verb" in a dark bedroom with towels under the door to shut out all light because to see each other's nakedness was a sin. Beyond fucking stupid.

Mark E Peterson must have repeated this story multiple times in different places. I remember it from a stake conference in Europe in the sixties.

I vaguely remember another remark he made about sex education. He said that he managed to have (I forget how many) children without having any sex education.

Did he ever figure out the kids didn't come from the stork?

This almost sounds like something that the Duggar's would do.....

see the link above. Yes, it was Mark E Peterson speaking to us on May 25, 1975, the day I was ordained an elder. He was speaking in Bellevue, WA and his wife was back home in SLC. And as I recall further, apostle Peterson almost seemed to be setting himself above others....and a higher example of purity, since he had never seen wife unclothed. Amazing...
