Just got done with a wonderful dinner in San Francisco with Rfm poster Cheryl, her husband the aspousetate, and two other ex-mos who shall remain nameless.
We drank wine, we laughed, we shared stories...and I got to week four wonderful people.
Thanks to Cheryl and her hubby, and the two nameless ex-mos, for coming into the city for dinner with me. Great food and great company! So glad I got to meet you all in person!

For everybody else: if you get a chance to meet up with board posters, take it. Such a great group here.

Disgusting!!! I bet you spoke ill of the lord's anointed!

And if you tell me that the laughter was loud, I will certainly be forced to utter, "Why, I never!!!"

Until some other spatial-temporal convergence...

at least by me.
Who knows, maybe someone will have a revelation about the identity of the unnamed exmos?
Or maybe they themselves will decide to come out?

Can you even "break" the word of wisdom if you're an ex-mo?

Sounds like a good time was had by all!

By the way, any posters or lurkers, especially those recently out, who are feeling lonely, cut-off from family and friends, or just need someone to talk to: go to one of the ex-mormon meetups posted here regularly. Or just ask if there's anyone in your area willing to meet up. If there's anyone else here in your area, I'll bet they'll be happy to join you for a coffee and a chat.
I had never met any of the fine folks I dined with last night before. Cheryl had mentioned being in the bay area, I was going there for business, so I proffered a meet-up. They went out of their way to arrange one.
This board is full of people who are supportive, understanding, and just plain good, fun people. If you are feeling alone, many here will help out. :)

You can drop our names! Mark and I had a great time. Hope to see you again, ificouldhietokolob, and anyone else here who happens to be in town.

I'm outnumbered in Provo. It can be lonely being the only apostate in land. lol

I understand...I lived in Provo as an ex-mormon for a little less than 1 year. Couldn't stand it. I high-tailed it back to California. It was to the point that I was being stopped *weekly* by the mormon Provo Police when I would walk out of 7-11 with a large cup of coffee -- they'd check my license and registration, and make up excuses for stopping me like, "I thought one of your tail lights was out" (they all worked fine). That was '91-'92.

If you ever get to SoCal, get in touch. I'll buy the beers :)
