It's "Pay to Play" mentality.

It isn't surprising really. It's post-climactic.

The way the church operates, it has been doing this for years.

It is a well run, tight knit corporation that functions similar to a pyramid scheme.

What is major about this leak, is that there's a leak at all.

Otherwise, it isn't really stunning is it? We've suspected as much all along.

The church may be forced to become more transparent with breaches of its internal security. Or will become more dogmatic than it is in trying to prevent it. It must be exacerbating to be a Mormon leader during these 'troubled times.' (wink wink)

I just got back from Smith's in Draper. The prices they're charging for large shrimp IS criminal!

Boycott large shrimp! Or better yet boycott Smith's Food stores!

I actually liked shopping at Smith's on my vaca in May to Utah and Idaho. It was the closest thing to home I could find, shopping wise. :))

If I recall properly, one of the 12 used to be the presiding bishop. He is probably cut off from the info now.

Of course thralls are told nothing.

Who actually runs the financial affairs of the church, and makes the investment and business decisions?

It looks to me like its the triumvirate of the Presiding Bishopric, as these three have access to all financial aspects of the organization. Sure, the first Presidency does too, but something tells me that they're too old and too "spiritual" to be examining spread sheets.

Who are "Global Service Center Authorized Employees" and "ICS Employees Authorized by fRD"? they, too, have straight across-the board access? Who are they and how many of them are there?

So, there are things the Twelve does not know that the First Presidency does?

I had an epiphany. On another topic, the question of whether they have seen Christ or know if other apostles have, the answer we usually get is something like "I think so."

The 12 apostles are 18-20 year-old missionaries to the First Presidency which is like a mission president. They don't know what they aint supposed to know, and with as little as they know, they gotta go out into the world and declare that this crap don't stink.

Wow -- there it is, a smoking gun.

Assuming this is an actual church date form (I have no reason to believe it is not), then it would appear that stake presidents (likely bishops, too), and anyone in ranks above SP, are selected based on tithing receipts!

Have these leaks been featured in any major newspapers or online websites? I've looked at a couple of them, and I looked at the title of a bunch of them, but I can't tell based on context how important or how controversial or how damaging the leaked documents might be.
