AWiL is one of my all time favorite movies! It was perfect from the casting of the lead roles, to the transition sequence, to the music. A true classic!

Now, we'll get a gory special effects hackjob without the charm and humor of the original. Disgusting!

It'll be dull. Nobody could be as beautiful and vulnerable as a young Jenny Agutter.

Amen on Ms. Agutter. See also "Walkabout," "Logan's Run," and "Equus."

She also appeared in the first "Avengers" movie and the first "Captain America" sequel as well.

I would hope that the sequel would at least rectify that egregious error.

One of my favorite movies!

Another remake that doesn't need to be made, but somebody needs to try and remake a buck, so it gets remade. Uhg.....reuhg.

There is no creative genius in movies or TV. Everything you see is a rehash of something that was done previously. Why is that?

Why?

Why bother?

Why try to improve on something that was so darn good in the first place.

Almost invariably, remakes are rubbish. Yes, yes - it's by no means a hard and fast rule, I know. But, ladies and gentlemen, I give you - for example - the remake of that marvelous Ealing Comedy 'The Ladykillers'; should have left that one alone, Mr. Hanks.

Would you try and repaint the Mona Lisa?

Imagine a remake of 2001?

A remake of Alien with anyone else but Sigourney (oh, be still my beating heart) in the Iconic role of Ellen Ripley?

Oh, and don't think you can get away with labeling such efforts 're-imaginings', you Hollywood directors.

In general, let your motto be 'if it 'aint broke, don't fix it'.
