RIP, Flo. I picked her up at the Indianapolis airport in 1995 & took her to a VIP suite at the Indy 500. She was a huge part of the Indy 500 race & the George family that ran the place. She was a cool old chick.
Wow, weird. This made me cry for some reason. Prolly because Barry Williams(Greg Brady)and I are the same age and I never missed an episode back in the day.
Don't cry. She led a great life. Came from a harsh background & rose above it. Liked to have a few cocktails. Knew more about Indy car racing than most guys I knew. Could hang with the boys and tell some great, dirty jokes.
Tawny Kitaen is a train wreck. Crazy, trust fund junkie. I knew Chuck Finely, in So Cal, when they got married. If Flo had issues with Kitaen, good for her!
I feel bad for her and hope she's getting help, but it was mortifying to watch her try to humiliate Florence Henderson. She handled it with grace, though.
I saw her every year for 14 years at the Indy 500. She was a "Cool Broad". A term that she would embrace. She could hang with, and be welcomed with Frank, Dean, Joey & Sammy. She could put down Don Rickles. She was a sharp lady.
I watched her years ago on The Brady Bunch, of course. In later years I saw her on Dancing With the Stars during her own season, and very recently in the audience supporting Maureen McCormick, who also competed. The last time I saw her in the audience, she looked completely fine. I am sorry to hear of her passing.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm mourning her loss more than I'll mourn the loss of some of my relatives. She was the greatest. She reminded me of my own mom except that her character was more maternal.
