for once in your life?

Mine: Where is the law written that permitted Joseph and Brigham to 'marry' the wives of their followers?

I can only find laws that condemn that practice as adultery.

I've offered $100 to any Mormon who could answer that question in numerous newspaper articles about Mormonism and on different Mormon forums and no takers. Not one.

I just asked the Missionaries, for fun,

Now chatting with Tyrel & Levi
T
Hello?
1:17 PM

B
I was just reading about a relative of mine who was Mormon, Zina Huntington Jacobs. Do you know of her?
1:18 PM

L
I'm sorry I don't know her. Do you know any other Mormons?
1:18 PM

B
She was married to both Brigham Young and Joseph Smith and Henry Jacobs, her real husband the whole time.
1:19 PM
THe church calls her an "Angel of Mercy" SHe wsa President of the Relief Society
LDS.org has numerous webiets about her if you care to learn about her.

L
Awesome I do remember hearing a bit about her but didn't recognize the name
1:20 PM
Do you believe in Jesus Christ?

B
Anyways, so her first husband never divorced her, but Joseph and Brigham married her. HOw is that possible?
1:21 PM
Yes I believe in Jesus.
Was there ever a law taht allowed a man to marry his followers wives?

T
Yep
1:22 PM

B
Where is it written?
1:23 PM

T
Heaven
1:24 PM

B
But this pertains to Earth, not Heaven.
1:24 PM
They married her for time and eternity, while she was already legally married to her real husband. That violates the 10 Commandments and the Law of the Priesthood D&C 132:61 in 5 ways.
1:26 PM
Without a law that disolved those previous laws, it was just sexual abuse of an infinitely less powerful follower. They'd go to jail like Warren Jeffs if it were today.

T
Just eternity. have a great day Bob :D
1:27 PM

B
Next question: How do you in good conscience sing praises to an adulterer?

The chat session has ended.

Moral of the story,
You can buy anything on Earth with money,
Except an honest answer from a Mormon.

That you can't get, ever.

What are the limits of Polygamy? How many wives COULD you exactly have? 1000, 2000, a Million? All of it is preposterous.

As you can see from the above conversation with the Missionaries today, you don't get more than one question before they lie and end the chat.

Wife Swapping PRofits? Written in Heaven
Child raping PRofits? Written in Heaven
Murder? Written in Heaven
Lying? Written in Heaven

Is there anything you can't justify by saying, "written in Heaven"

Nope

I would love to hear the answer to... how they really feel about the city creek mall, the cattle ranches, the 35 story philly apartment complex. How do they deal with the dissonance.

I have a question about the first vision. Could you explain it to me please?

https://www.lds.org/topics/first-vision-accounts?lang=eng&_r=1

Who appeared to Joseph Smith? God the father? God the father and Jesus Christ? How come all the multiple first vision accounts are so different?

Can anyone make it to the Celestial kingdom considering the next few verses?

3rd Article of faith. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

2nd Nephi 25:23 for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

Moroni 10:32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you,

D&C 25:15 Keep the commandments continually, and a crown of righteousness thou shalt receive. And except thou do this, where I am you cannot come.

How do you live with yourself?
How can you live without yourself?

Why do you seperate?

Why do you think eternity starts tomorrow, or the next day?

Why aren't you truly living now?

Whether the marriage they entered into immediately after their missionary service ended was really their decision, and whether there is truly love in that marriage.

I think after a question or two he just recognized that he was talking to someone with an anti-mormon agenda and so he was just trying to complete the conversation as quickly as possible and move on. I used to work in a call center - not a religious one - but call centers take note of the kinds of customers that call in and what typical questions or problems are, and then train their staff to handle them. I imagine this center has had similar training.

You're much more charitable than me.
I think he's a lying sack of shit with the morals of an alley cat if he can justify praising a man who destroyed his followers lives by stealing their wives and raping them with his obscene amount of power

I really don't think that's the best place to try to effect change, because FIRST:
They need to be OPEN to receiving new information.
They need to TRUST the source of that information.
They need to feel SAFE when receiving that information.

Why should the phone rep believe anything you say? He's going to automatically be distrustful of you. Also, he KNOWS that everything he types is being monitored - so even if he WONDERED about it, he's not going to engage in that line of conversation that is not LDS Church promoting.

In fact, he'll probably say something out loud to other reps sitting nearby, and they will support him if he needs, and give him more ideas of what to say. His boss may even look on, or could even take over the conversation at any point.

Can you see how, because of the way you approached them, that what you say may seem to lack honesty and sincerity as well? And that's an aspect which I think is very important in getting someone to listen to you.

Is there anything the 15 could give as council or represent as revelation that would make you wonder if they really do speak for God?

If the doctrinal principals of eternal polygamy, the second anointing, the oaths and convenants of the temple endowment, etc. are such an important part of Mormonism, why are they not promoted and taught by missionaries before conversion, and in Sunday School discussions afterwards?
