Just got a message from the Elder's Quorum president, who is also our home teacher, wanting to know if he can come over and do his hometeaching for the month. He's really living on the edge, this being that last Sunday of the month and all.

This is the same guy who wanted to come up with a candy-bar reward system for those who do their hometeaching early. What would it look like if he isn't able to check us off for the month?

If he gets all bothered by that, ask if its more important to see you or meet his February quota.

That candy bars don't do it for him?

Seriously, the way TSCC uses people toward celestial reward. Persons who are alive or dead. Just disgusting.

Tell him you'll give him a candy bar if he *doesn't* come.
That should be fun. :)

Any connection between candy bars and home teaching is perverse.

Now that I have this twisted juxtaposition in my mind, I must act to purge it. I am going to go eat a candy bar at this very moment while I conjure wicked nihilistic thoughts about home teaching; hopefully that will have the desired purgative effect.

Those little kiddie incentives insult anyone over age 12.

He approached me at Church. He was flustered because his companion was home with sick family members and he didn't feel like he should come alone. That by itself is an odd concept. Why can't a person come over by themselves for a visit with a whole family? Anyway, I didn't want to encourage him. He then tried to schedule something for Tuesday the 28th. I told him we were busy that night.

So, defeated, he settled for scheduling something in mid-March. I reassured him that him not coming over this month would not have eternal implications for our family.

New rules mean he has already home taught you. You don't actually have to visit a family now to count it. Just "make contact"

So they call actually counts as home teaching now.
