I was surprised last night when DW asked me if it was ok if she recycled all the old (formerly cherished) scriptures that had been gathering dust in a prominent place in our house. She even threw out Jesus and the her old well marked-up Bible.

Apparently she doesn't care any more if TBM relatives come over and see the scriptures are gone. She obviously sees no need to read the good book again.

I saw this as a big milestone for her and us in our new religion free journey through life.

Our lives have been so much better and we are a lot closer. I love this girl!

I'll admit it freely:
It gave me a little smile to think of them recycled as toilet paper.

Best to you and your clearly wonderful wife :)

Congratulation! Happy for you! It is quite unlikely that my TBM DH will one day throw away his scriptures.

I was going to keep the LDS editions of the Bible, because after all they are King James Version. But then I noticed all the LDS forenotes and footnotes. Out they went!

My new Bible is not King James. Why not update and read modern English?

My preference is the New American Bible translation as some of the others are dumbed down too much.

It's NOT the scriptures that are the downfall of the LDS "religion", rather it's their ignoring the core essentials of Christ-Like living:
Kindness, Respect, & Honesty.

Ripping up and trashing my triple combination was therapeutic for me.
