To all those who will be speaking at GC in a few weeks:

I know that your talks are already mostly ready, but I wanted to add a few things to think about before you spout off too much drivel. My suggestions:

You are not smarter than the rest of us.

You are not closer to God than the rest of us.

You are not more moral than the rest of us.

The Book of Mormon is not nearly as impressive as you think.

Pleasant emotions are not the same as revelations. We all have
pleasant emotions. Yours are not better than ours. Do you have some demonstrable evidence to the contrary? We'd all like to know.

When we challenge you, we are not challenging God. We are challenging you.There's a difference.

Finally: We would gladly follow God's prophets. The problem is, I don't know any. Do you? I mean real prophets. BTW, being a right-wing nut job is not adequate qualification.

better in which way, exactly? Spouting nonsense? Exuding an aura that implies you think you are wonderful and extra speshul (more 'equal') than others? Believing you have more god-given 'power' over non-believers, or those with lesser 'priesthood authority', as GA's seem to think they do?

Mormons can generalise very well when they want to - they can do the opposite and be very specific when they want to, too, but generalising is what they do best when putting you down. Heads they win, tails you lose.

I always hated being dragged along to priesthood session. Every year all they did was get all upset and teary eyed over the fact that a lot men watch porn and masturbate.
