To celebrate two years (in April) since leaving the church I figure I should probably go ahead and send in my formal resignation. Hopefully in a couple months I'll officially be off the church records! I regret nothing. Sure there have been days where it was hard and I thought about what I lost with leaving the church but... I could never ever go back. I have no desire. And in fact it makes me angry more than anything at this point. Soon I will OFFICIALLY be an ex-Mormon! Any tips for the name removal process?

I turned my back on the mighty morg 5 years ago. I recently resigned by using the attorney who lives in Salt Lake and handles resignations for free. It took about 2 months, but I now have that letter that says I'm no longer a mormon.

Dang I wish I lived near SLC so I could use that attorney! That's a cool resource.

Pretty much keep it short and to the point. Be polite about it, as well. I had a friend who had his name removed last month. It took about 3 months.
