I'm Arizona so you can't assume everyone is a Mormon, but these are two giveaways that the lawyer you're looking at online is a Mormon:

--Full name with middle initial listed

--Membership with the Boy Scouts of America is listed under affiliations

You're welcome...

--Speaks a foreign language not immediately recognizable or representable from their name.

This^ In particular, obscure languages listed in attorney biographies that are unlikely to be used in a professional setting in the Intermountain west, i.e., German, Dutch, Thai, Haitian Creole, etc.

Unless the lawyer was a Peace Corps Volunteer.

Well, in my case, it would be when at the end of the conference call the opposing attorney accidentally called the Arbitrator "brother Aurbach."

We lost.

But had it been a criminal case, the greatest point to appeal ever.

How to spot a lawyer*:

flat nose (from chasing ambulances, not always successfully)
keeps mouth closed (to avoid showing shark teeth)
snakeskin briefcase (no compassion for own kind)

How to spot a mormon lawyer:

all of the above, and...
garment lines clearly visible (shown proudly for some reason)

*with tongue firmly in cheek, and no offense meant to the good lawyers like Richard and others!

Silly lawyer joke.

What's the difference between a dead dog in the road and a dead lawyer in the road?

There are skid marks in front of the dog.

Actually, most lawyers use their middle initial. Also, many religious people, not just Mormons, affiliate with the Boy Scouts. Sorry, but don't think your test works that well.

Not all of us lawyers who seem to be Mormon actually are. Some are even in recovery. But where we cater to a highly Mormon population, you will see what pandering can be done to a Mormon community.

You may even see us tout things like having served on a mission, Boy Scouts, etc.

So, don't assume I'm Mormon just because I cater to Mormons and know who my target market is in Utah.

Don't forget the G.A. Drone. He will be soft spoken and oh so sweet -- shaking your hand with both hands, and running his hand across your back for the garment check! (Ok. I'm being facetious, but some of that is right! )
