WingNet upgraded something that broke the board. The old board was basically held together with coat hangers and chewing gum anyway and had outlived its usefulness, so Eric decided to move to software that would be more maintainable. That's how I understand it.
RfM site owner, Eric K., had a message up at the top of the old RfM board for a few days that said their server in Tennessee crashed. I don't know the technical details, but apparently it was a mess. The message is no longer there.
So, the tech problems originated in Tennessee, not Salt Lake City. Maybe somebody else can explain the problem better than me.
This would be a really good Q/A topic to put in the FAQ section of the new board.

In upgrading the thigniemawhatsit, it broke our thusandsuch. And WN could not fix it. Remember the day of the parsesomething errors? It had to do with that :)
Okay, ADMIN, now gimme back my caps and space in my display name, or no more jokes. Otherwise you get to see for yourself just how grumpy people can really get...
Anyway, here's an advanced tip for real hardcore RFM imbibers: I would've gone blind long ago (no, not from that) except I set the background to a "neutral gray" instead of white for much of the board. When I originally came here way back when, Netscape did that automatically. Now, of course, Netscape has been assimilated, and I use Firefox. There's a setting that says "Allow pages to choose their own colors instead of mine."
I had to uncheck the box on that one, but I'm starting to feel at home.
And in case anyone doubts my identity, Timothy is my witness. The password is "woodpecker."
I'll let those with dirty minds wonder about that one...
