Years ago, a TBM woman I knew was discussing her experience with a prescription antidepressant. She said that the medication worked very well for her, but the one problem was that she wasn’t able to “feel the spirit” since she started taking it.
To me, the obvious explanation was that what she was feeling wasn’t the “spirit”—it was something that her own brain chemistry created.
Of course, there may be a different reason. Maybe in addition to porn, not reading your scriptures, R-rated movies, not doubting your doubts, not keeping the Sabbath day holy, reading “anti” literature, not doing your visiting/home teaching, and loud laughter, antidepressants can keep you from the Holy Ghost’s still small voice.
I guess the third member of the godhead isn’t powerful enough to penetrate Prozac.
