We were down for over 16 hours to repair the database and move to a larger server. There will be a an outage or two over the next week or so as we finishing migrating and fixing issues.

We have $900.00 in our account. The migration will cost at minimum $500.00. Our monthly cost is $150.00, so we will be out of funds shortly. We have a fund raiser once a year. No is is paid here. It is all volunteer. If you wish to help please use:

paypal to - erickett@wingnet.net
The button can be used on the bottom of the front page: http://www.exmormon.org

or directly to wingnet, our ISP - stating a check is for exmormon.org
WingNET // PO Box 2605 // Cleveland TN 37320-2605

Our average donation is $25-$50. We do not wish this to be a burden and of course, it is voluntary. We always support anonymity and it will never be a paid subscription to post here.

The search function works now!

As of 1:15 PM we have received $105.00. Thanks!

Eric

thank you for still accepting checks.I'm putting one in the mail today.
I used cash at the grocery store the other day and the checker seemed quite surprised.

It always amazes me. We are over $400.00 now. It usually only takes 2 days to get all the funds we need for a year. We are now into summer so it may take a bit longer. I hope we can get 3K to pay for some professional help and newer software.

At the risk of giving useless advice, have you considered Amazon Web Services? That service is fully scaleable and you only pay for whatever traffic and storage you actually use.

I have a friend who runs a website for a living. Once we were at a Christmas market in Germany and his site suffered an outage. He got an automatic notification and with a beer in one hand and his cell in the other, he was able to restart the server and fix the issue in about 5 minutes (and he was already pretty tipsy).

Of course, he knew exactly what he was doing but AWS provided the tools and the infrastructure that made it possible.

Anyways, thanks for keeping RfM alive, you are truly making a difference in people's lives. You saved my family of four, and I'm sure there are thousands of others.

Thanks for the suggestion.

We are indeed aware of AWS and are considering cloud-based solutions as an upgrade.

O, and by the way, the first year is really cheap because you get all sorts of discounts. That could be a way to finance the upgrade from the running expenses jar...

of one Senine of gold which adjusted to today's USD is one hundred well-deserved bucks.

For some reason, PayPal would not accept my Kirtland Bank notes as official tender.

I presume you are spoofing us, but just incase you do have some of those.....

Here you go. Now you can turn in your Kirtland Bank notes for some cash value!

We are up 1500.00. This will keep us going in the current format for a year - no upgrade. I was hoping we could get a bit more. I will let this run for a few more days.

My donation will be there in a few days via snail mail. I can't believe that I am the only one doing it that way, so your fund should continue to grow over the next week.

We are up $1750.00 That is good. A bit short and we are looking at cheaper alternatives for hosting and messaging. I try to do this once per year or less. I will take down the note on Monday.

I wish I could have given more at this particular time; but, here's my plan: (maybe others will like it, too)

I'll hit the DONATE button on:

Both my parents' birthdays.
(Leaving TSCC is the best gift I could have given them!)

My TBM son's birthday.
(He shunned us)

I'll think of more.

Kathleen,

The cult got its talons into my daughter including after we'd left it more than a decade ago. Years later, after daughter had graduated college, the bishop and his wife where we last attended before resigning literally hid her at their house for six months, unbeknownst to me. It was my hiring a private detective then that led me to her, and those seedy bastards. They stop at nothing to separate children from their parents. She wasn't LDS then either. I really feel they were exacting revenge for our leaving in 2005 because of some shady underhanded things the bishop's wife had done then. That is the singular event for me to conclude not only was the church a cult. I already knew that. It is the epitome of evil to deliberately and with callous disregard drive wedges between families.

My daughter shares your name btw. Although she's changed it since leaving home and again when she moved to Israel.

As far as I'm concerned, the former bishop and his wife are persona non grata. They are as good as dead to me.

Amyjo, I can hardly imagine the rage you must have felt--knowing your child was hidden from you.

The good news for you and for me is that we are still here with hope for our children seeing the light. Not so lucky for my son's father. My son shat on his father the worst. His father died within a year of his broken heart.

Thank you for directing your post to me. Let's hope that you and I and others can outdistance the damage that mormonism has done.

(Note to self: add ex's birthday to donation list)

Thank God for The Internet and good people who write about real truth despite these appeals to fake Mormon truths.

Thank you Eric and volunteers and contributors in words and funds.

Hope things are going better for you.

We just walked in the door from a little trip to Morro Bay, so we're in disarray, but will get organized soon and hope our little contribution can combine to alleviate the situation. We nee RfM to continue for as long as possible.
