What the girls used to sing at YWMIA back in the old days:

[To the tune of "Someday my Prince will Come" from Disney's
"Snow White"]

"Someday my prince will come,
In the millennium.
And he will say to me,
'You'll be wife number three,'"

As a photographer waiting for a lab order, I used to change it to:

"Some day my prints will come..."

I think mine is funnier than the mormon version. :)

So THAT'S what they wouldn't give me the time of day at Ricks....I was not prince/RM material.

Which can work, if one isn't looking for too much.
(Besides, are you 'princess' material?)

There was a convert to the church back in my NYC days who would spend hours talking to me on the phone.

He loved the ladies. I don't know how he managed to commit to one woman, but he did and they've been married for going on 30 years now. She was a LDS divorcee from Brooklyn.

He asked me before he was married that were polygamy made legal he would want me to be one of his plural wives.

Out of all the men I've known in my time, that was the first and only time someone proposed to me to be his polygamous wife. If it were legal, I would've said no regardless. I always found the concept abhorrent including as a Mormon.

When we were first married, I told my one-and-only, "You'll always be my favorite wife!" She gave me a mock scowl. I never tried that line again!

Miles Davis' rendition of that tune is great, though. Look it up sometime on youtube.

Can confirm. Heard sister missionaries sing this as a form of gallows humor back in 1981.

Polygamy during the millennium was indeed taught as doctrine.

I finally found my prince, but not before coming across a lot of toads! I didn't look the princess part; more like a valkyrie. ;-D
