There are 4 women in the first picture. That is one more female than are named female characters in the Book of Mormon (if you exclude Mary). You only need 3 women's costumes.

How funny.

Reminds me of how people dress up like santa, elves, Easter bunny, etc. Though, most people doing that realize that it's make believe and don't have a religion based on it.

It looks like some very modern fabrics and sewing methods were used. If so, they would not be period clothing.

How come they aren't dressing up in Arnold Frieberg type costumes? His paintings are everywhere Mormon. I thought they were the standard for what a Nephite or Laminite looked like. Actually those boys better get to the gym and find some serious protein powder if they want to be Nephites.

I laughed that they actually specified "no pink leopard." Haha.. Mormons!

Mormon cosplay!
Without the showing of bare skin...'cause those ancient imaginary Lamanites, of course, never showed any bare skin...

Ha ha ha...what weirdos. No sandals? Why not just dress up like Star Wars characters?

Unbelievable! These people have been so brainwashed they think a book of fiction is real and even came up with costumes, probably from the paintings by Arnold Friberg. His murals are in the temples (or some of them).

And why the tennis shoes? Where are the sandals.

Not to mention their glasses. Who made the glasses for that period?

After watching the trailer (half of their video because I couldn't stomach to hear anymore) they should have an extra re-enactment or two. I would love to see them showing JS translate the BoM with the rock in the hat and the un-needed plates collecting dust in another room. Also, it would be fitting to see JS return the plates to heaven.

So lame! The sneakers just kill the look. They really should look like the Friberg paintings, more Conan the Barbarian, and less wimpy Elder in a dress. The ladies need metal bras, animal skin mini skirts, and not much else.

Damn funny. Oh God, dressing "like" people who never existed. But even their "period dressing" at places like Nauvoo is seriously flawed. It seems to be based on what BYU has used for "period dress" in some of their church films.

They need something Hebrew-looking. http://hebrewgarments.com

If you want real cosplay, do an endowment session. That costs real money. Even more than Renfair.

Yes, if you google the Central American pre-common era Lehionian period, that is the common native period clothing you will find.

2017 and all that comes with it and this is the Mormon imagination? The clothes look like a first grade class project and why even do it if you are going to sabotage the project with sneakers and T shirts? What an insult to a highly cultured ancient civilization even if it is only make believe.

Bless their hearts though, they got steel swords and shield for a logo. Mormons. Never gonna give up on all those crazy claims of the BoM. They really should put at least one elephant in the mix next to the horse to bring it all home with a bang.

I can just hear the tearful testimonies now as they tell how much they felt the spirit during as they participated. Poor things. So indoctrinated. Makes me sick.

So much for being a peculiar people. They really need to start using the word "ridiculous" instead.

I'd call it fantasy cosplay myself, as it's a made-up period.

Someone should tell them there weren't any horses in America. Horses had been extinct in America since the end of the Pleistocene epoch.

They sure have a lot of horses on their website, which makes it a really bad re-enactment.

That's OK; they'll have to ditch the horse anyway after it kicks an errant Stripling Warrior in the head....
