So TSCC has changed its policy on who can officiate in the temple.

From the article:

"Until now, single men could serve as temple ordinance workers through age 30. Women already were eligible to serve beyond age 31.

"Divorced men and women previously were ineligible. The updated policy requires no waiting period following a divorce."

1) Why did their god change his mind?

2) I wonder what this truly means. (The pool of volunteer cult-session facilitators is dwindling?)

It means they're having trouble finding people to work.

Desperation. You can smell it.

Slave labor is getting harder to find

The number of divorced people is increasing, most likely, and the other pool of volunteers dwindling.

Good that they are less of a second-class citizen?

It's desperation, but they are turning the temple workers pool into a secondary dating pool to try to keep the believers "yoked" together inside the cult.

Watch for some sad and tragic fireworks as some of the predatory types figure out they can take advantage of this opportunity.

Real question: Why do you think they had this stupid rule?
Besides God wanted it that way? I've been told many times that married couples are the ultimate example. Maybe cause of that?

Single people over 30 are an anathema to Mormonism. The very
fact that they used to have restrictions on them as temple
workers shows this. These people often feel less than fully
welcome in their ward. By making them TEMPLE WORKERS, they are
trying to keep them from leaving.

There is no real place for single people in their thirties and it is a beautiful thing.

I didn't even know this rule existed. Reminds me of the ban on blacks from priesthood and temple privileges. I wonder what other discriminatory practices do they have in their rule book?

It takes hundreds of volunteers to run a Mormon temple, and there were simply not enough of them under the former standard. The only other alternative is for the temple to restrict the number of days per week that it is open, or the number of sessions per week, which has already been happening depending on the location.

I suppose working in the temple is better than cleaning toilets in the Wars building and they might even give you the disgusting view lunch from Bishops store Deseret rejects. But I have zero interest wasting my time with any of this crap. I hated "callings" in church because they were bullshit. So glad none of that occupies my time. I have no interest in making founding Chu church families embarrassingly wealth which is the whole purpose of the church. I worked in the church. Not only do they pay the leadership handsomely, all the church projects using tithing or fast offering money is contracted to family members of founding families at bloated rates.
