Until maybe ten or 12 years ago. Now they scream: "We are one of you! Accept us!"

They finally realized that their tiny, less than 1% portion of the country was never going to turn into a sizable voting block (at least outside of Utah).

So to push their agenda, they had to be part of a bigger group.
You know, the group of mostly evangelicals that is with them on so many issues, but still thinks they're "not christians..."

Hence the change in PR.

This must be why they put out so many Jesus pictures now, and Jesus videos. And they no longer tell people not to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

A protistant minister showed up in the old temple ceremony, doing the devil's bidding by promising a religion for money. Don't forget to let the non-mormon world know about that. The chickens come home to roost.

This "church" is nothing more than a backwoods cult. Because they are so deceptive they have amassed a fortune of billions, which allows them the front that they are a legitimate religion. As the money runs out the reality will set in. LDS, you are toast.

I always thought that it was because they wanted to increase their political power outside of Utah to help them win their political battles.

You can see TSCC trying to gain ally itself with homophobic Christian sects throughout its battle against same sex marriage.

What better way to gain Christians sects as allies than to pretend to be a Christian sect fighting for Christian values.

It is not about PR, it is about political power.

A small isolated group with no allies has no power, it it gets allies, it gains influence and power.

Perhaps this is a time for confrontation.
First collect the supporting documentation.
Then when the new approach, now we are, is presented show them the evidence to the contrary and watch them squirm.
