This was on my "Reasons I don't need the Church" list. I don't want to spend eternity with people who think that to "rule and reign in the house of Israel forever" is a good thing.
The idea of a kingdom ruled by a benevolent ruler seems to be a desire handed down through the ages. Problem is that "benevolence" and "ruling" never seem to go hand in hand. I cannot even imagine it working in that fictional realm called Heaven.
Yeah, that's a real problem for TSCC--while the bible is full of kingy stuff because ...well...kings and stuff, the "All American" church still has to default to the royal stuff.
Since that Trump and that Pence (with the sly Himmler smile) were elected, I have been trying desperately to live in a kingdom. I have been to see the British Consul in Chicago three times, seeking immigration, but he tells me I'm too old to contribute to society and that I would be a burden on the British taxpayer.
I'm afraid he's right, but I still want to live in a Kingdom which does not (yet) elect lunatics to high office.
I am a gay jerk American who wants to live in a kingdom.
