Nelson wants to know what our lives would be like without the Book of Mormon.

My answer: It would have been far more genuine for many years.

Well, first off, I wouldn't have wasted the first half of my life believing in a comic book (although the Friberg illustrations *were* pretty cool!).

How's that for starters?

I've been out almost as long as you, Ron, and it's been a blast. It wasn't all peaches and cream, but we do have our "We did it our way" vibe going for us.

My life has been pretty darned good! If I'm going to read fiction, I prefer that it be by a more talented writer.

I have to say that there is no better sleep-inducing aid than the BoM, however.

1. Instead of reading this work of fiction, I could have used my time learning a language or traveling.
2. I would have saved my brain cells from cog dis.
3. I could have spared myself from embarrassment of sharing it and testifying of it.
4. I could have saved $ from buying books to study it better.
5. I could have spared myself using it to enhance my study of the Bible.

Every time I read the BoM, it took time away from masturbating.

It's great, and far more honest than before.
For example, I don't have to put my fingers in my ears and shout "la la la la I can't hear you" when actual history of the Americas and archeology are discussed.
That right there makes tossing the thing worthwhile.

Another church leader desperately trying to give importance to the BoM as its value is tarnished more each day by the obvious fraud, plagiarism, and lack imagination.

What's a shill to do?

Well there Russell, when I attempted to read this book (?) I got a lousy headache from the way people were treated over and over again as in ending up dead when they failed to be "righteous". I kept asking myself what kind of a god works this way. The plot was nothing but predictable and sooo boring and.....

...then there were the endless "and it came to passes".

I thought if this is what is considered a wonderful, well-written bible by Mormonism someone is BONKERS and it ain't me.

I always ask myself what my life would have been like if I had just become a Methodist ...

It's been wonderful! I'm not longer mentally exhausted from making myself focus so hard on reading and studying the book without getting bored.
Plus there is less worry about why "god" would write such a racist, contradictory book.

And Mr. Nelson, I leave that with you in the name of genuine happiness, a now peaceful mind and my sanity. Amen.

I probably would not exist if not for the Mormons. Almost all of my ancestors were Danish and English immigrants who arrived in Utah Territory as converts . Generations later we get Jimbo. As far as that book goes It came to pass that Jimbo found it exceedingly absurd when it wasn't just being boring or plagiarized.
