Sometimes threads can be educational to trolls. If they are automatically deleted, those of us who are 'helpers' can't guide them to further research. It only confirms their preconceived ideas about the board.

We don't always. There are some issues with this one and a lot of threads involved.

Some of my best work is responding to the trolls.

Every now and then we get a troll to play with. But I would trust admin's decision making. They see more behind the scenes than we do.

They used to overrun the place. I'm glad more of them are now being deleted.

A few change their name but get found out and punted. A pox on them. Thanks admin for that!

I gots no time for trolls. Life is too short.

This troll was posting over and over using different names. He had numerous posts on the first page and all were about gays or off topic and stupid. If he hadnt been deleted he would have taken over the board and there wouldnt have been room.for the rest of us. Good decision.

And not only that, but we get trolls who post nothing but racist or homophobic stuff, and we have had trolls make threats of violence against posters.

We have trolls that post vile, profane attacks on Eric and other mods. Given the time and effort they put in without compensation, they should not be subject to those attacks.

Finally, we have trolls whose postings defending Mormonism can be upsetting to some posters who have left - particularly those who have just recently left, or who still have conflicts with family or neighbors over leaving.

This is why most trolls need to be deleted.

That's why we need a coliseum section. So they can be fed to the lions.
